32-Visualizing

From “Paper Clip” to “Palestine”, each article within Wikipedia is the outcome of a collaborative process of interactions, feedbacks, discussions, disputes, edit-wars and vandalism. By visualizing the process of collaboration within heavily disputed topics, we can research how conflict is handled in an indirect and open environment. This affords us new perspectives on dispute management and conflict resolution, especially relating to complex conflicts where attempts at resolution have so far faltered or failed altogether. This project presents what can be considered in Foucaultian terms as a tool for exposing the genealogy of discourse in a way that structurally reveals the relations between knowledge and power, and their connection to mechanisms of identity structuring.
