StreetBeat offers cultural mapping of different locations in an urban environment through patterns in the way people listen to music on their personal phones. It collects, maps and visualizes the music listened to on city streets. The StreetBeat mobile app senses what music is played on the phone and registers it anonymously with the server, tagging its location. Switching to the map view, users can explore new music, played by others who were there before.
