Leni Riefenstahl, a film director in the service of the Third Reich, is known for her cold, clear aesthetic work, as well as for its manipulative powers. Her well known film Olympia, which documents the 1936 Berlin Olympics, is the subject of this research project, presenting an analysis of the movement, composition, camera angles as well as other components of the cinematic language she used. Using computational graphic tools, the study aims to reveal the semiotic characteristics of her films in order to understand how they reflect the ideology that the film aspired to support.

OR WOLFF lives in the city Haifa, Israel. She holds B.Des in Graphic Design from the “Wizzo” Haifa Academy since July 2012. “Olympia” is the products of her final project, relating to the fields of broadcast and video-art, and has been very well received by the media in Israel. Currently, she’s working as a freelance graphic designer, while striving to continue studying in order to receive an MA in Design in Europe. [PORTFOLIO]
