The musical galaxy uses data visualization in order to translate personal music collections into three-dimensional projections in space. The resulting virtual image is a naturally navigable playlist.
Audience members are encouraged to scan their personal music collections, which are then analyzed, song by song, based on their rhythm, style, the performing artist and other attributes. A tailored algorithm plots the songs into a three-dimensional space according to the analyzed attributes in a way that groups similar songs, and separates dissimilar songs. Upon completion of the process, a 3D projection of the resulting mapping is displayed, representing each song as a star in space so that the playlist owners can navigate through their own personal musical galaxy.

ROI RONN (B. 1984), developer and technology enthusiast based in Tel-Aviv, Israel. Roi is about to finish a B.Sc. in computer science in the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and earns his living by working in a cyber-security oriented startup. He is happily married to Hadar, and is excited to be working and exploring in an era in which technology is forcing us to reconsider everything we know about communication and human interactions.
